How many steps are needed to complete the injection of plastic toys?

Injection mold is a tool for the production of plastic products. Through the processing method of injection mold, some products with complex shapes can be produced in batches. In the production process of injection mold, the quality of injection mold directly affects the quality of the final product. So how to make a perfect injection mold?

The mold maker summarizes the following five points:

The first part of the plastic part process analysis

When designing, it is necessary to fully analyze and study whether the plastic products conform to the principle of injection molding. When designing the mold, it is necessary to carefully negotiate with the product designer, and an agreement has been reached. Make necessary discussions on the geometric shape, dimensional accuracy, and appearance requirements of the product, and try to avoid unnecessary complexity in the mold manufacturing process.

Structural design of the mold.

A high-quality mold set not only requires sophisticated processing equipment and skilled mold manufacturing workers but also a very important factor is to have a good mold design, especially for complex molds, the quality of the design accounts for 80% of the mold quality above. An excellent mold design is: on the premise of meeting the requirements of customers, the processing cost is reduced, the processing difficulty is reduced, and the processing time is shortened.

In order to achieve this, it is necessary not only to fully digest the customer's requirements but also to have a certain understanding of the injection molding machine, mold structure, processing technology, and the old factory's own processing capabilities.

Therefore, in order to improve the level of mold design, we should do the following:

   1. Understand every detail of each set of mold design and understand the purpose of each part in the mold.

  2. Refer to previous similar designs when designing, and learn experience and lessons from its mold processing and product production.

  3. Learn more about the processing technology of injection molding machines, and deepen the relationship between molds and injection molding machines.

  4. Go to the factory to understand the product processing process and understand the characteristics and limitations of each processing process.

  5. Understand the results of the test and the modification of the self-designed mold, and learn lessons.

  6. When designing, try to use the more successful mold structure before.

  7. Learn more about the impact of mold water on products.

   8. Research some special mold structures and learn about the latest mold technology.

Three, determine the mold material and select standard parts

When selecting mold materials, in addition to considering the accuracy and quality of the product, the correct choice should also be made in accordance with the actual processing and heat treatment capabilities of the mold factory. In addition, use existing standard parts as much as possible to shorten the production cycle.

   4. Parts processing and mold assembly

In addition to giving the best structure and reasonable tolerances when designing, the processing and assembly of mold parts is also the key to mold design. Therefore, in mold manufacturing, the choice of processing accuracy and processing method occupy absolute advantage. In order to reduce mold manufacturing errors, the machining accuracy must first be improved. This problem is well controlled with the use of CNC machine tools. In addition, for molds with high machining accuracy requirements and large product yields, the cavity and core of key parts should be quenched to avoid errors due to mold wear and deformation. In order to save materials and facilitate processing and heat treatment, the mosaic structure should be adopted as much as possible when designing medium and large molds.

In order to solve the error caused by the uneven shrinkage of the formed parts and the inconsistency between the predetermined shrinkage and the actual shrinkage, 1/3 of the product tolerance is usually selected as the manufacturing tolerance of the mold. The purpose is to leave a larger adjustment space for the subsequent forming process, thereby Solve the errors in the forming process

   Five, trial production

plastic toy injection molding a complete set of molds from design to assembly only completed 70% to 80% of the entire production process.

Because the expected shrinkage is inconsistent with the actual shrinkage, whether the demolding is smooth, and the cooling effect, especially the influence of the size, position, and shape of the gate on the accuracy and appearance of the product, all need to be tested by a trial mold. Therefore, a mold trial is an indispensable step to check whether the mold is qualified or not and choose the best molding process.
