Causes and solutions of poor replication on the surface of automobile injection parts

Jun 10, 2020 Leave a message

Poor surface replication means that the injection molded part cannot accurately replicate the surface of the mold cavity during the molding process, which is manifested by the uneven gloss of the surface of the injection molded part.

Cause:

1. The surface design of many automobile injection parts has dermatoglyphs. The finer the dermatoglyph effect, the more difficult it is to replicate during injection molding.

2. The shape of the dermatoglyph is very regular. When they are not connected to each other, it is easy to cause poor surface replication due to the dermatoglyph.

3. The cavity pressure is insufficient. In this case, the injection molding process should ensure that the melt has enough pressure in the cavity to replicate the mold surface.

solution:

Generally speaking, high temperature, high speed and high pressure (referred to as the three high process) are beneficial to reduce the pressure loss of the melt and make the surface of the injection molded parts better replicate the mold surface.

Avoid sleepiness. When the exhaust effect of the mold is not good, or the depth of the skin pattern is large, or the injection speed is too fast to make the gas in the cavity too late to exhaust, trapped gas will be generated, resulting in poor surface replication.
