How to smooth the PLA guide is usually achieved by grinding 3D printed parts, but it is important not to be tempted to use a driven sander. When you grind PLA or other low-temperature materials, you can save the effort of printing with high-quality filaments and get clean.
Once the 3D object has more or less reached the desired shape, the final finish should be used for finishing. If you want a really smooth surface as above, we recommend not skipping this step, but when grinding a 3D print, we recommend the following grain sizes.
Grinding should always be done in a small circular motion, and hand rotators are better than hand rotators or lathes.
After sanding with high grain sandpaper, you can spray a thin, even layer of rust oleum onto the print to finish it with a primer or spray paint in combination with the sanding technique. The third way to finish PLA prints is to use primer and spray - on painting as a combination of sanding and techniques. After sanding, the 3D object can optionally be provided with the desired surface for polishing, varnishing, or varnishing.
This sounds like a lot of work, but don't worry, the material dries in just a few minutes and fills up at a small rate on the surface of the print. Each layer only takes a few minutes, so your print already has a nice finish.
When grinding a PLA print, wetted glass paper cools the surface, lubricates it and cools it down a bit. If you are using wet or dry paper to sand your 3D printing (as opposed to beige), it is best to behave well, because if you sand quickly, the heat can build up and affect the smooth surface you want to achieve.
The last and funniest part is when you actually start polishing your PLA print. If you want your 3D printing to be processed like a mirror, you need to build up to 3000%, but it feels really smooth and polishes beautifully and evenly. This is not as easy as smoothing the high temperatures of the 3D printing material.
The end result looks good after polishing, but the layers of sandpaper steps don't feel like you've made great progress.
Apply to the 3D printing surface and focus on getting a flat surface by moving up to 600 grits. The sandpaper will scratch the XTC and 3 D layer, so rub some polish on the surface, but not so much that it will cause damage.
Once you have finished sanding, make sure you thoroughly clean the part with soap and water and then dry it with compressed air before moving on to the next step. The cleaned PLA part is coated with XTC and 3D, but the painted PLA parts are coated with black. Also, the inner pockets are badly sanded and had some problems with the merging.
To keep the sandpaper clean, it is recommended to sand the print from start to finish to prevent friction and heat build-up - and not damage the part. After sanding the gradation and preventing dust and cake accumulation, you can clean your pressure with soap and water.
FDM parts can be ground to a grain size of up to 5000 to achieve a smooth, glossy surface, but no more than 500 grains for a more polished surface.
Typically, it is better to sand the part by working lightly over the surface with low grain sandpaper and gradually increasing the grade of the sandpaper at least four times before finishing it with fine grain sandpaper. It is much less labor-intensive to have pressure points with contact points and support structures but requires grinding to remove layers and lines to ensure uniformity.
Be sure to use a light touch to avoid small details or to compromise the dimensional accuracy of the part. Rub the surface with fine-grained sandpaper and brush lightly over the top of the part with your hands or a small brush.
When sanding the print, Iftakher recommends using a gradually increasing type of sandpaper, such as 1 / 4-inch paper, and sanding it with a larger paper first to remove any unevenness and scratches. You also want to use a finer-grained variety for higher resolution, especially on the first layer. You can wash your imprint several times, check for missing scratches, and sand it down before you start again.
Once the pressure has been sanded properly, it can be primed and polished or sanded down to the desired mirror - like a finish that affects tolerances. An aerosol primer designed for model painting provides even coverage and can ensure that details on your print are not covered before painting. You only need to apply up to 600 grits to paint, but if you want a mirror ready, sand the prints a bit more, as this can affect your tolerance.
