How much does the wall thickness of plastic parts processing affect the quality?

The wall thickness of plastic parts has a great influence on the quality. If the wall thickness is too small, the flow resistance will be large and it will be difficult to fill the cavity for large and complex plastic parts. Plastic parts processing wall thickness of the minimum size should meet the following requirements:

1, with sufficient strength and rigidity;
2, when the mold can withstand the impact and vibration of the mold release mechanism;

3, the assembly can withstand the fastening force.

Plastic injection molding processing plant has a minimum wall thickness value, depending on the variety of plastic parts, grades and products vary in size. Plastic parts processing wall thickness is too large not only a waste of raw materials, thermosetting plastics molding process, but also increase the molding time, and easy to cause incomplete curing; and for thermoplastics, it increases the cooling time. In addition, it also affects the quality of plastic parts processing, the same injection molding wall thickness should be as uniform as possible, otherwise, it will produce additional stress due to uneven cooling and curing speed.

It is important to determine the wall thickness of the plastic part reasonably. The wall thickness of the plastic part is firstly determined by the requirements of the plastic part: including the strength of the part, quality and cost, electrical performance, dimensional stability, and assembly requirements, general wall thickness have empirical values, reference to similar can be determined (such as iron general wall thickness of 2mm, the vacuum cleaner is roughly 2.5mm), where the following points are noted.

a, plastic wall thickness should be as uniform as possible, to avoid too thin, too thick and sudden changes in wall thickness, if the plastic parts must have wall thickness changes, should use gradual change or arc transition, otherwise, it will cause shrinkage uneven plastic parts deformation, affect the strength of plastic parts, affect the injection molding liquidity and other molding process problems.

b. The wall thickness of plastic parts is generally in the range of 1-5mm. And the most commonly used value is 2-3mm.

c, the minimum wall thickness of commonly used plastic parts and commonly used wall thickness recommended value: (mm)

d, try not to strengthen the bar and screw column design is too thick, it is generally recommended to take the body wall thickness of half of the more secure, otherwise, it is easy to cause shrinkage and other appearance problems

e, try not to design the parts into a separate flat plate, the size is very small, or deformation leads to parts uneven
