For precision machining grinders, how to provide precision parts at low cost and efficiently?

  1. Precision machining and grinding

Precision grinding is a subdivision of the abrasive cutting process, in which a machine tool equipped with a grinding wheel is used to precisely remove material (usually metal) from the workpiece while maintaining very tight tolerances. Precision grinding equipment can be controlled manually or by computer numerical control (CNC).

Just like using a hand-held angle grinder, the working principle of precision grinding processing equipment is to rotate the grinding wheel at a high speed relative to a fixed workpiece. When the grinding wheel is in contact with the material surface, the grinding wheel removes small particles to reform the surface (such as sandpaper on a metal surface). By strictly controlling the number of contact points and the material to be removed, and through multiple test operations, each operation will take away more material, the equipment can maintain very strict dimensional and geometric tolerances (straightness and flatness) And a smoother surface finish.

Precision grinding applications: Precision grinding processing usually requires higher precision and material finish specifications than traditional machining. Any application that requires tight flatness or contour tolerances is usually a good choice. Some example operations include, but are not limited to: pinhole machining of stamping die grooves, outer diameter grinding of bearing surfaces, grinding of gear teeth, and surface micromachining.

  2. Precision centerless grinder

The precision centerless grinder is used to reshape or trim the surface of the workpiece in a radial shape. In this configuration, both the workpiece and the grinding wheel rotate and move relative to each other to remove material. Since the workpiece is also rotating, it must rotate around the central axis. Precision centerless grinder equipment can be designed and used to create outer and inner diameter features.

Precision centerless grinder: As the name suggests, the final part will be cylindrical or circular. When using outer and inner diameter grinders, the parts are fixed with a spindle and then rotated. The precision centerless grinder does not fix the workpiece on the spindle, but fixes the part between two rotating wheels, and then rotates the processing of these parts.

There are many types of precision centerless grinders, of which there are three main methods for obtaining precision parts: direct feeding, final feeding, and feeding. Modern centerless grinders require computer numerical control to obtain parts that require tighter tolerances. In addition, these advanced centerless grinders can be automated and improved accuracy. Precision centerless grinders can help us process parts such as transmissions, feeders, and many other customized parts. Importantly, this is an environmentally friendly and pollution-free processing technology that can provide precision parts cost-effectively.
