Failure analysis and solution: The reason is that the turning tool is installed too high or too low, the workpiece is not clamped firmly or the turning tool is too worn.
1. The lathe tool is installed too high or too low, too high, when the knife is eaten to a certain depth, the back surface of the lathe tool bears against the workpiece, increasing the friction, and even bending the workpiece, causing the knife to bite; too low , The chip is not easy to be discharged, the direction of the radial force of the turning tool is the center of the workpiece, and the gap between the transverse screw and the nut is too large, which causes the depth of the knife to continue to automatically deepen, thus lifting the workpiece and biting the knife. At this time, the height of the turning tool should be adjusted in time so that the tip of the turning tool is equal to the axis of the workpiece (the tip of the tailstock can be used to set the tool). When turning parts in rough turning and semi-finishing turning, the tool tip position is about 1%D higher than the center of the workpiece (D indicates the diameter of the workpiece to be processed)
2. The workpiece is not firmly clamped. The rigidity of the workpiece itself cannot withstand the cutting force during turning, resulting in excessive deflection, which changes the center height of the turning tool and the workpiece (the workpiece is raised), resulting in a sudden increase in cutting depth. When cutting the knife, the workpiece should be clamped firmly at this time, and the tailstock tip can be used to increase the rigidity of the workpiece.
3. Excessive wear of the turning tool causes an increase in cutting force, bending the workpiece, and a bite. At this time, the turning tool should be sharpened.
