aluminum low pressure die casting -large closed casting

Apr 15, 2023 Leave a message

Aluminum low pressure die casting is an aluminum low-pressure casting process that injects molten aluminum alloy into the mold under low pressure, allowing the molten aluminum to form the required parts in the mold. This process is commonly used to produce aluminum parts that require high precision and surface quality, such as parts in automotive engines and steering systems, industrial machinery parts, electronic equipment housings, etc. Compared with traditional high-pressure casting and sand casting, this process has higher forming accuracy and better surface quality.

Aluminum low-pressure die casting is suitable for many different types of products such as auto parts, kitchenware, electronic equipment, building components, and more.

This is because the low-pressure casting process can produce high-quality, high-precision aluminum alloy parts, and has the following advantages:

  • Short cycle: This casting method has a short production cycle and is able to produce a large number of aluminum alloy parts in a short period of time.

  • High precision: Low-pressure casting molds are highly accurate, so high-precision parts can be produced.

  • Excellent surface quality: The surface of aluminum alloy parts is smooth and uniform, without post-processing.

  • Low cost: the low-pressure casting equipment is simple and the cost of use is low.

Therefore, low-pressure casting is suitable for the mass production of aluminum alloy parts with high precision and high surface quality requirements.

The difference between low pressure casting and high pressure casting

Low-pressure casting and high-pressure casting are two different casting processes, and their main difference lies in the size of the pressure and the way of applying pressure. details as follows:

  1.  The pressure is different

The pressure of low-pressure casting is generally between 0.1-0.5MPa, while the pressure of high-pressure casting is between 15-100MPa.

  2. Different ways of applying pressure

Low-pressure casting is to exhaust the casting exhaust gas and uses the exhaust gas pressure to inject molten metal from the casting furnace into the mold, so it is called "automatic pressure casting". Unlike the traditional pressure casting method, it injects metal from the bottom.

High-pressure casting is to force molten metal into the mold through a pressure chamber, and the pressure method is generally mechanical pressure or hydraulic pressure.

  3. The scope of the application is different

Low-pressure casting is mainly suitable for large-scale closed casting, such as auto parts, mechanical parts, etc.; high-pressure casting has wide applicability and can be used to cast various large and small castings, such as aviation, transportation, military, and other fields.

Generally speaking, the low-pressure casting process is simple, the cost is low, and the scope of application is limited, while the high-pressure casting requires special equipment and high technical requirements, but it can cast more fine and complex castings.
